Nana’s Pound Cake

3 sticks butter, softened
3 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon extract
6 eggs
3 cups sifted plain flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 cup sweet milk

    Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and lemon extracts and blend well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each addition. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together and add alternately to creamed mixture with milk. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degreed for 1½ hours.
    Serves 10 to 12
