Obituary...Jane Dallas White Hadley

Jane Hadley was born in Mason on August 31, 1930, to Walton Walker White and Sarah McGaha White. She grew up in mason and loved working on Mill Creek Ranch with her father. she attended Hockaday School in Dallas and graduated from Mason High School in 1947. She attended the University of Texas in Austin.

Jane lived in Menard, Winters, Roscoe and Muleshoe before returing to Mason in 1975. She married Tom Hadley on September 16, 1976. She loved rancing and was a good cattlewoman and horsewoman. She worked with the Miss Mohair Pageant in San Angelo and used her organizational skills to help Tom with publicity for the various rodeos that he announced.

On Saturday, January 21, 2006, Jane passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Tom, as well as by one daughter, Ann Freiberger and husband Brian of Puyallup, WA, and three sons: Lee Walston and wife Danita of Mertzon, Walker Walston of Mason, and Roy Walston and wife Serena of Harper. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy White DeYoung of Dallas; a step-son, Mark Hadley of Llano, and by her grandchildren: Matthew Ellison and wife Melissa, Jonathan Ellison, Aubry Walston, Jared Walston, Brandon Walston and wife Brandi, Katheryn Walston, and Raymond Roy “Dub” Walston III. In addition, she is survived by three great-grandchildren: Jackson Ellison and Victoria and Kaylee Walston.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 25, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Mason with Jared Walston officiating. Interment followed at Mill Creek Farm in Mason County. Katheryn Walston, Raymond Roy Walston III, Matthew Ellison, Jonathan Ellison, Jimmy Walker and Lloyd Comer served as pallbearers.

Memorials may be sent to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mason Funeral Home. Condo-lences may be sent to the family on-line at masonfuneralhome.net.
