Beef cattle series to cover pasture management on Aug. 25 in San Antonio

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service 2022 Bexar County Beef Cattle Series continues Aug. 25 in San Antonio with a discussion focused on pasture management and understanding forage and soil testing.

The event will be held from 3-5 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension office in Bexar County, 3355 Cherry Ridge Drive, Suite 208, San Antonio. Refreshments will be provided.

The cost is $15, payable by cash or check. An advance RSVP is required by calling 210-631-0400 or emailing sarah.nichols@ag.tamu.edu prior to the event.

One general Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education unit is available.

This is the last part of a three-part series, but previous session attendance is not required to attend.

Beef cattle series expert, topics

The speaker for this session will be Larry Redmon, Ph.D., associate department head and AgriLife Extension program leader in Texas A&M’s Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Bryan-College Station.

Among the topics Redmon will cover are:

  • Interpreting and Understanding Forage and Soil Sampling Results.
  • Native and Introduced Pasture Management.

Sponsoring the series is Bexar Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, Alamo Soil and Water Conservation District, Ful-O-Pep and Kraus Seed Haus.
