The cost is $20 and includes breakfast and lunch. Registration is available online at http://williamson.agrilife.org/program-registration or by calling the AgriLife Extension office at 512-943-3300.

“This year’s program will cover a diverse variety of topics to be presented by AgriLife Extension specialists as well as industry reps and county officials,” said Tyler Coufal, AgriLife Extension agent, Williamson County. “It will also include more than 20 inside and outside trade show booths.”

Symposium topics and presenters will include:

— Cow Herd Nutrition, Dr. Ron Gill, AgriLife Extension program leader for animal science, College Station.

— Selecting Replacement Heifers and Breeding for Advancement, Dr. Jason Cleere, AgriLife Extension beef cattle specialist, College Station.

— Beef Cattle Pests, Dr. Sonja Swiger, AgriLife Extension entomologist, Stephenville.

— Pasture/Grazing Management, Dr. Larry Redmon, AgriLife Extension program leader and Texas A&M University soil and crop sciences associate department head, College Station.

— Cattle Market Update, Dr. David Anderson, AgriLife Extension economist, College Station.

Coufal said producers who attend will find something useful for their operation.

“We will have educational opportunities for cow-calf producers, stocker operations and forage producers,” Coufal said. “The symposium will get back to what is important – beef.”

One general Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education unit will be offered.
