Producers Livestock Auction, San Angelo, Texas, February 15, 2018: San Angelo-Producers Livestock Auction had 1731 head of cattle. Compared with last week’s sale, calves & yearlings sold fully steady. Slaughter cows & bulls sold fully 2 to 4.00 higher. Only moderate demand for a fairly large offering of bred cows and pairs. Dry weather has become a real concern for stockmen in our trade area. Better Quality Steers:  400-600 lbs, 130.00-190.00, mostly 140.00-170.00, 600-800 lbs, 115.00-155.00, mostly 130.00-145.00 Better Quality Heifers:  400-600 lbs, 120.00-155.00, mostly 130.00-145.00, 600-800 lbs, 110.00-140.00, mostly 120.00-130.00 Slaughter Cows:  Average to high yielding 58.00-66.00, very highest yielding cows 67.00-75.00, thinner or lower yielding cows 46.00-56.00 Slaughter Bulls:  Average to high yielding 80.00-92.00, thinner or lower yielding bulls 71.00-79.00 Bred Cows:  Better quality heavy breds 1150.00-1435.00 per head, Average to better quality breds 850.00-1100.00 per head Cow/Calf Pairs:  Better quality sets 1250.00-1400.00 per pair, Average quality pairs 900.00-1150.00 per pair

Oklahoma National Stockyards, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, February 19, 2018: Receipts This Week: 10,852 Last Week: 6,546 Last Year: 8,866. Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 1.00-5.00 higher. Feeder heifers  steady to 2.00 higher. Most advances were on thinner fleshed cattle suitable for  grazing. Steer calves sold 3.00 higher on a light test. Heifer calves 4.00-8.00 
higher on a light test. Demand for all classes remains good. Much needed moisture  came across the trade area over the weekend and more is being predicted for later in  the week. Feeder cattle supply included 61 percent Steers, 35 percent Heifers, and 3  percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 74 percent. Slaughter cows mostly steady to 4.00 higher. Slaughter bulls 2.00-3.00 higher.  Packer demand good. A total of 306 cows and bulls sold with 70 percent going to  packers. Please note weighted average weight and price follow in parenthesis.
