Cattleman’s Spring Clinic April 11th in Lampasas

LAMPASAS — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service offices of Lampasas, Burnet and Llano counties are hosting a Cattleman’s Spring Clinic on April 11 at the Lampasas County Farm Bureau Building, 1793 N. Highway 281, Lampasas.  

April 5 is the deadline to preregister by calling the AgriLife Extension office in Lampasas County  at 512-556-8271. The cost of the clinic is $25,  and lunch will be provided by Nothin Butts BBQ.

“Come and spend a morning with us learning how to figure out if your operation is really making a profit and what the markets mean to you,” said Heath Lusty, AgriLife Extension agent, Lampasas County. 

“There will also be plenty of time for a question-and-answer session,” he said. “We are here to help cattlemen make informed decisions to best position themselves and their operations for success.”

Topics and speakers will be:

  • 8:30 a.m. – Registration and refreshments.
  • 9 a.m. –  Determining Cost of Production, Bill Thompson, AgriLife Extension economist, San Angelo.
  • 10 a.m. –  Market Outlook and What it Means. Dr. David Anderson, AgriLife Extension economist, College Station.
  • 11 a.m. – Farm Bill Changes Affecting Farm Service Agency/Natural Resources Conservation Service, Lampasas County FSA and NRCS personnel.
  • Noon –  Lunch.
