Bulls, commercial females sell strong at San Antonio

In the 2010, 19th Annual San Antonio All Breed Bull and Commercial Female Sale held February 10th at the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo, 513 head of cattle, 47 bulls and 466 females sold for a gross of $815,250.
    The 47 bulls representing 9 breeds brought a gross of $137,600 for an average of 2,928 while the 466 head of females sold for a total of $677,650 for an average of $1,454.
    145 open heifers sold for an average of $1,268; 148 bred heifers sold for an average of $1,224; and 173 pairs sold for an average of $1,807.
    In the annual bull sale, 12 Angus brought an average of $2,183; 5 Brangus, $3,100; 8 Charolais, $3,081; 14 Herefords, $3,850; 2 Lim-Flex, $2,550; 2 Red Brangus, $2,400; 2 Sim Angus, $1,525; 1 Simbrah, $2,000 and 1 Simmental, $2,400.
    Topping the 47 bulls consigned was the third high grading bull overall, a Hereford bull from C&M Herefords, Nara Visa, New Mexico and sold to Diamond S Cattle Co., Fort Worth, Texas for $9,000.  The second high selling bull was a Hereford consigned by B&C Cattle Co., Miami, Texas and sold to Diamond S Cattle Co. for $7,000.

    Lim-Flex: consigned by CFLX Ranch, Madisonville, Texas sold to Leroy Zamzow, Kenedy, Texas for $2,600.
    Red Brangus: consigned Cox Excalibur Red Brangus, Katy, Texas sold to Michael Broaddus, Stockdale, Texas for $2,500.
    SimAngus: consigned by RX Ranch, Ballinger, Texas sold to Tommy Bran-denberger, Hallettsville, Texas.
    Simbrah: consigned by RX Ranch, Ballinger, Texas sold to Tackitt Ranch, Floresville, Texas for $2,000.
    Simmental: consigned by Buzzard Hollow Ranch, Granbury, Texas sold to Erlath Engelhardt, Seguin, Texas for $2,400.
