The 10 producers who registered the most Angus beef cattle in the state of Texas recorded a total of 3247 Angus with the American Angus Association® during fiscal year 2008, which ended September 30, according to Bryce Schumann, chief executive officer of the American Angus Association.
The 10 top recorders in Texas are: Camp Cooley Ranch, Franklin, 588-head; 44 Farms, Cameron, 426; William Clark, Crockett, 356; Double Creek Farms, Meridian, 332; Bradley 3 Ranch Limited, Memphis, 300-head; Running Water Land & Catl, Bovina, 286; Fluharty Farms LLC, Gause, 256; Turner Farms, Satin, 243; Brown Gardiner Angus, Throckmorton, 232-head; Dreamcatcher Genetics, San Marcos, 228.
Angus breeders across the nation in 2008 registered 333,766 head of Angus cattle. “Our year-end statistics continue to demonstrate strong demand and extensive market penetration that Angus genetics enjoy,” Schumann said. “These results underscore our members’ commitment to providing genetic solutions to the beef cattle industry.”
