Pfizer Animal Genetics laboratory in Kalamazoo, Michigan,announced March 7th, they received Ilumina® CSPro 50K certification. The certification reaffirms Pfizer Animal Genetics’ commitment and investment in cutting-edge genomic technology to support livestock producers.

Illumina CSPro is the collaborative service provider partnership dedicated to ensuring the delivery of the highest-quality data available for genetic analysis applications. Illumina CSPro participants undergo a rigorous two-phase certification process that includes minimum data generation, data certification and an on-site audit of the facility and processes.
The whole-genome certification is especially important for Pfizer Animal Genetics’ High-Density 50K for Angus, the beef industry’s first and only high-density DNA panel to identify more than 50,000 DNA markers for each tested animal.
The laboratory in Kalamazoo is also certified by the USDA Process Verified Program and is a member of the International Society of Animal Genetics.
