President’s Address

It is ICA Convention time and the stage is set for a great event. For someone wishing to learn more about our industry, there is no better place to be. If you are not a member, join us anyway and receive a free family membership with your paid registration. With CEU’s, top rated speakers, live entertainment and plenty of fun events, our time spent in San Marcos will be one to remember. The trade show has a number of new vendors this year and we are expecting to see and hear about several new products available to ranchers. Items are stacking up for the live and silent auctions, so bring your checkbooks and credit cards so you won’t be left out of the offering. Also, we can always use donated items for the auctions. The 82HP Can Am Defender that is the ICA Drawdown grand prize is awesome and it would make a great addition to your ranch.  The Can Am staff will attend and there will be a number of models to put your hands on, too. I am personally anticipating the Lone-some Dove events and the 150th Anniversary of the Chisholm Trail celebration.
The state convention revenue is an integral part of our association budget, so please join us in San Marcos. It is also a perfect time to let the officers, directors and staff understand your views and concerns. With ample time for visiting, it is a unique opportunity to hear the “heart beat” of the cattle industry.
As always, we need your input and attendance to make ICA the premier voice of the cow/calf producer.  I am looking forward to seeing many old friends and making new friends at the convention.
